2023 Harbor Safety Plan Public Review

The Harbor Safety Plan was reviewed and revised this year by the Cook Inlet Harbor Safety Committee (CIHSC). Changes were made to the Plan based on work done by the HSP Workgroup earlier this year and at the Spring 2023 HSC meeting.

The revisions include updated Under Keel Clearance language, addition of the definition "in-transit" and addition of "recommended anchorage" language. These changes also reflected on page 4 in the 2023 Record of Changes table.

The 30-day Public Review of the Cook Inlet Harbor Safety Plan will begin tomorrow, September 13th, 2023, and comments will be accepted until close of business on Friday, October 13th, 2023. Received comments will be reviewed and appropriate changes to the plan will be added. The revised Plan will then be presented at the Fall Committee meeting for final approval on Thursday, October 18th, 2023 in Homer, AK.
